In 2012 I ran for statewide office for an upstart environmental political party. Having developed a reputation as a hippie long hair urban cyclist, hanging out with Green Party and Earth First! types on the weekend, my campaign team told me I needed to "clean up" my image, like get a hair cut to look more like a "professional" nerd rather than a traditional Unix neckbeard. Cleaning up my skull hair and changing my normal clothing (digging deeper into the closets) meant I had to get a whole new set of action photography for our campaign website, and Joe Wilson came highly recommended. I described the problem and we worked together on exactly what would be required for a campaign website. Joe's professional equipment and assistant made the process quick and painless. I'm not known as photogenic, so I don't have a history of camerawork, yet still the process was enjoyable. I could have hired any amateur photographer for much less, but Joe's prices were extremely reasonable for his expertise and deliverables, and I needed to be sure I could get it right with one attempt during the busy campaign. We had a dog that was close to dying, so my wife and I got a good set of family/pet pictures, too, that came just in time. Joe was so flexible and everything just seemed easy to him. I'm not sure I should mention this, but there were so many good images, he processed many more than were requested, so the result was an incredible value. If you're considering a photographer and aren't sure if it's worth it, because well everybody these days is claiming to be a good photographer, go with a known professional like Joe, and rest easy that you'll not be disappointed. What sets a good professional photographer apart these days is their portfolio and their references, and that's why its important I recommend Joe Wilson for all your photography needs.
